Illusio
Turtle Rock Preschool
Turtle Rock Preschool wanted a website that would match the creative approach of their school, while also including an entirely custom Parent Portal that integrated WordPress with their custom internal portal for parents.
Problems We Solved
This behemoth of a site required us to pull out all the stops that the WordPress CMS had to offer; from custom page templates to hierarchal Custom Post Types, as well as custom database integration that enables the staff to easily manage all the pertinent information of the children’s family, classroom activity, teachers, meals, emergency contacts and more from within WordPress, with all the data feeding dynamically into a Parent Portal that is independent of the WordPress website…all while being easy as 1,2,3 to update.
Interactive Extras
Design nuggets abound on this site; from a custom “mega-nav” dropdown, to fun button transitions, to unique hover effects. The site is so fun and easy to use, even a preschooler could do it.
Free Wheelchair Mission
Driven by a passion to help those truly in need, Free Wheelchair Mission found themselves in need of help when their entire website, ecCommerce and donation platform was going to be going out of business. They needed a new solution, while also taking their website to another level, which included a new donation platform to replace the old. Illusio and Chee to the rescue!
Problems We Solved
Even though time wasn’t on our side, we still needed a robust content management system that accommodated on the fly layout rendering using a page builder, an integrated Shopping Cart and seamless integration with the Classy Donation platform. Mission accomplished.
Travel Southern Oregon
Travel Southern Oregon was looking for a website that would be a visually appealing directory of all the various attractions of the Rogue Valley, while also serving as a blogging platform for their monthly highlights.
Problems We Solved
The key to success for this website was a requirement to be highly searchable through all the different post types that were on the site, which included blog posts, pages and attractions, all aggregated through a main search function. We implemented global custom taxonomies for all post types, along with a site-wide search and filterable search widget to make sure a visitor could jump right to the activity or region of their choice.
Sunshine Rafting
Sunshine Rafting’s website needed a refresh and a highly optimized mobile-oriented experience, since nearly 50% of their traffic was from mobile devices. We paired up with Chuck from Illusio combining his design strategy with our responsive design chops to create the new Sunshine Rafting experience.
Problems We Solved
The homepage of the website was the highest converting page and main focus, so they didn’t want custom designs for interior pages. Using a “default styles” design from Illusio, we merged it with a WordPress Page Builder plugin and created a series of dynamic templates, giving all the interior pages a custom layout and feel.
Interactive Extras
Using scalable vector graphics (SVG), we were able to bring subtle transitions and animations to various iconography across the site, giving the site a fun and adventurous feel without getting in the way of the information.
Bliss Landscape Architecture
Michael Bliss runs Bliss Landscape Architecture in Carmel, California. He felt his website had to match the original and creative designs that he provided his clients, and thus wanted to get a custom website that would showcase his work by spotlighting each project’s beauty.
Problems We Solved
Michael had two groups of projects that he needed organized on the website and didn’t want to spend a ton of time managing content when he could be landscape designing. We used Custom Post Types and Custom Taxonomies to create an intuitive backend for content management, and integrated a site builder to ensure maximum flexibility.
Interactive Extras
The navigation was tricky because it had to always be “open” without any color behind it, per the design comp, but also had to be readable no matter what type of picture was beneath it when a user went to engage with it. We came up with a solution that would grayscale the entire screen anytime it was interacted with, ensuring readability everywhere on the website.
I&E Construction
I&E Construction needs were straight forward, but had a curveball: they needed a simple portfolio for their projects and team bios, but it had to be completely automated from their existing CRM, Cosential.
Problems We Solved
I&E’s biggest concern was managing their content within their CRM, only to have to double their efforts on their website. We dug deep into their CRM’s documentation and found it had an API that could tie right into WordPress’ API. This enabled us to sync the two systems so I&E could focus on managing their CRM while the WordPress site we built for them took all the content and presented it in the visually appealing design that Illusio constructed.
Interactive Extras
The grid on homepage, designed around the Golden Ratio, is coded with the same ratios in the CSS and scales proportionally no matter what the screen size is.
