Prichard Communications
Prichard is a small but nimble communications agency that works with large non-profits, foundations, and government clients on communications strategy. Their 2015 website build came out “clunky” and they were looking for a refresh of the site that also brought a more intuitive administration panel for their content.
Problems We Solved
Prichard’s site had a lot of content and very specific requests on how certain content types linked to others, such as Case Studies to Services Rendered. Leaning on WordPress’ handy Custom Post Types and Taxonomies, we created relational data sets that allow the client to manage their content from a central location and quickly update/modify/remove content site-wide.
Interactive Extras
Prichard’s brand is very understated and for them load time was more important than anything. We went light on animations and transitions, ensured the custom theme we built was as lightweight as possible, and then launched the site on premium hosting to ensure load times within the 1 to 2 second range.
Cards For Travel
Cards For Travel had a basic blog for about 5 years. Their traffic came from other travel work that the client does, and the website made money from the credit card affiliate links. The current site served it’s purpose, but they wanted it to look a lot better.
Problems We Solved
The previous developer used WordPress and set up all content as a regular WordPress “post”, which is normally reserved for a Blog. We registered a new Custom Post Type and migrated all their existing content over to the new post type, allowing them to completely separate their Blog from their Credit Cards, making their content management workflow a breeze.
Germinate Creative
Maria described the look of her desired new website as “quirky and creative”. We used Maria’s design comps and brought them to life with WordPress. Her unique iconography and creative portfolio took care of the rest.
Problems We Solved
Because Maria is more artist than tech, she requested the site be as simple as possible to update. Using clearly defined page template and Custom Fields, along with instructions embedded directly into the WordPress Dashboard, Maria was able to populate the site quickly and easily, even while holding her new born baby.
